My research was deeply influenced by the work of my Cambridge supervisor, Dr. Alison Liebling, whose Measuring the Quality of Prison Life (MQPL) survey I have leveraged in my own work. I recently published a paper with Dr. Kazemian which examines the cross-cultural comparability of prisoner surveys, using MQPL data gathered from a selection of countries across the world.
I am also working with a former Master’s student to analyze an original MQPL dataset collected by the John Howard Association, a prison monitoring and advocacy organization in Illinois. This project leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, including topic modeling and sentiment analysis.
