I am involved in the International Criminal Justice Program and the Office of International Research Partnerships at John Jay. My fluency in Spanish has allowed me to work on several projects and partnerships in Latin America. In the summer of 2024, I was hired as research coordinator for the Policing Training Project in Peru, led by Dr. Hung-En Sung and funded by a 3 million USD grant from the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. In this capacity, I analysed a wide range of Spanish-language policy documents to inform the development of a community safety survey and an evaluation framework for a new programme implemented by the Peruvian National Police. I also spearheaded the evaluation of a community safety intervention co-led by the Peruvian public school system and the local police. This project was terminated by the U.S. State Department in March 2025. I have continued to work with Dr. Hung-En Sung and Dr. Joel Capellan on the development and implementation of GATI, a multilingual, technology-driven platform designed to enhance international efforts in criminal justice reform and public safety modernization.
